Tiger Woods may return soon
Many have guessed when the Tiger Woods, golf’s prodigal son, will return. He has been the subject of a lot of talk, rumor, speculation and tabloid fodder due to his shenanigans off the golf course, and a lot of people have wondered just when it is that he is going to be getting back to work. He probably doesn’t need payday cash, as the guy has been the top earner in golf for years, with voluminous tour wins and sponsorships.
Scuttlebutt is that he shall return for Bay Hill
Both the Baltimore Sun and CBS News purport that he may join the Arnold Palmer Invitational at Bay Hill, at the Bay Hill Club and Lounge outside of Orlando. Tiger won’t need any quick cash for a hotel, he can just go home. The bumps in the road, of course, are first that Bay Hill doesn’t have enough space for the reporters that will all want a story, and also, and perhaps most importantly, Tiger Woods has not yet said boo about when he’s returning to golf.
Tiger brings in the big guns
Tiger Woods recently hired Ari Fleischer as PR help. Ari Fleischer has a lot of experience with the press, having worked with Mark McGwire, Major League Baseball, the NFL, BCS, and the Green Bay Packers. Oh, and then there was that whole thing of him being White House Press Secretary. (Yeah, he was involved in the Valerie Plame scandal, but that’s something else.) Ari Fleischer IS kind of a big deal.
What has Tiger Woods been doing?
After Tiger Woods spent weeks in therapy and recovery, he has been going to the driving range in Isleworth, Florida near his home. He has apparently been working on his drives. There is no confirmation that he’ll appear at Bay Hill, and it’s equally likely he’ll turn out for the Tavistock Cup, a tournament in Isleworth. If Bay Hill is his intent, then he has until 5 pm on Friday, March 19th to register, as the PGA Tour requires registration a week prior to any event.
